The Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIMN) is a business school located in Maharashtra. It was one of six new-generation Institutes of Management established by the Government of India in 2015. The campus is fully connected with students benefitting from state-of-the-art classrooms and access to online academic resources.
As part of its drive to deliver world-class education, IIM Nagpur leverages technology such as Impartus Software. This e-learning platform is designed for lecture capture and streaming, enabling colleges and universities to offer students online learning and interactive blended classrooms.
Because of COVID, the prime focus of IIM Nagpur for all classrooms was to support video conferencing, lecture recording and streaming. A key part of the solution is Impartus Software which is designed to be easy to integrate and use.
As part of the automation process, the Institute installed Lumens VC-TR1 PTZ cameras. With intelligent auto-tracking built-in, the cameras produce dynamic television-style results with no need for an operator. Their IP, USB, SDI, and HDMI video outputs mean that the cameras can be integrated into a variety of workflows, enabling high-quality video streaming and interactive video communications.
With PTZ cameras and the learning platform installed on an Ethernet network, integration is fast and system administration is straightforward.
By combining Lumens auto-tracking cameras with the Impartus solution, IIMN has automate the core elements of its online learning platform. This gives the institute the ability to offer high quality blended learning programs, enabling student to pursue academic qualifications via distance education.
In the past, we have installed other brands' Tracking Cameras in our classrooms but none of it was as smooth in tracking. Lumens' unique features like Partition Tracking are a very helpful tool for our faculty. After the first phase of completion, other faculty members wanted to replicate the same solution in other classrooms as well. So, currently, the second phase is being implemented on our campus.
