Lumens Narrows the Field with CamConnect Pro Zone Mapping

March 20, 2025

Hsinchu, Taiwan, March 20, 2025 – Lumens has announced an industry first with the new zone-based voice-tracking feature in its popular CamConnect Pro system. In conjunction with selected ceiling microphones, it allows users to identify the location of voices in a meeting room with incredible precision, enabling extremely accurate camera tracking and intelligent auto-switching.

“Zone Mapping allows a room to be divided into multiple quadrants of any dimensions, the minimum zone area can be 1m x 1m. This means that CamConnect Pro can identify the position of an individual with incredible accuracy, making a meeting more immediate and interactive than ever.” Noted Steven Liang, Head of Product Development at Lumens.

CamConnect Pro is a multi-angle auto-switching processor designed for meeting spaces, lecture halls and board rooms. It controls up-to 4 cameras, dynamically changing camera shooting angles to deliver genuine meeting equity for remote guests. The new zone mapping tool has been developed first for the YAMAHA RM-CG ceiling tile; CamConnect Pro will extend support for this new feature to the Sennheiser TCC2 and other models in the coming weeks.

CamConnect Pro also supports microphones systems that report XY angle co-ordinates which is highly effective in dedicated meeting rooms. Zone Mapping excels in spaces where guests are seated in close proximity to each other or placed in several rows.

The Zone Mapping feature is available to new customers and existing CamConnect Pro users at no cost as a firmware upgrade.
